World war one Arch at Valady Need Attention - M.A.Aleem Neurologist #Trichy Member Tiruchirappalli District Welfare Fund Committee

World war one Arch at Valady Need Attention
- M.A.Aleem Neurologist #Trichy  Member Tiruchirappalli District Welfare Fund Committee
A 98 years old World War one memorial arch at Valady village in Tiruchirappalli District, which is lying in ruins, has the words “Lest We Forget” written on its peak. Considering the state in which it’s languishing in, one can’t help but feel a palpable sense of irony.

This commemorative arch erected near Valady in Trichy during the British rule,in August 8, 1922 in  recognising the role of Indian soldiers in the victory of the Allied powers in World War I, is in the state of ruining now. It is feared now that the 98-year-old structure could crumble any time even before its 100th anniversary if the rain fall intensifies.

As with many historic structures, the right portion of the arch is being encroached upon by a shop and bricks have been coming out one by one.

This arch opened by Sir T. Desikachariar, Trichinopoly District Board president, on August 10, 1922.

This need uplift in this 71st year Republic day sir - M.A.Aleem Neurologist Trichy Tamilnadu India .
My request send  to January  2020  Mann ki batt  and to Trichy  Collector  on27.1 20
