Caring for senior citizens
Tamil Nadu has the second highest percentage of senior citizens in the country. Because of our improved healthcare system, India has recorded an improvement in life expectancy. This has also been boosted by our health insurance programme. Elder people are more affected by age related disorders such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease and other non communicable diseases. So screening and care of the elders is important. Separate out patient clinic for elders in all medical institution hospitals can help them.
