Alcohol and Drug Misuse in India
Broken joint families, loneliness, joining in elders home ,depression, poor economic states for periodic consultation with physicians for their illness ,getting over the counter medications ,more incidence of chronic pain problems and free flow of alcohol at their door steps are the important causes for alcohol and drug misuse in Elders In India
Various misconceptions about alcohol, diseases and their treatment ,more useage of allopathic medications by the quacks and traditional healers are also the important causes for their misuse.
At times use of alcohol during festivals and religious rituals are also the reasons for misuse of alcohol in this age group in India
