Lakshmi Ammal, Lady Zamindar of Marungapuri Zamin . It is considered the first commentary on Thirukkural written by a Tamil woman.Thirukkural Depalangaram was written by K.S.V. Lakshmi Ammal in 1928 and published in 1929. It was printed at Sadhu Printing Press, owned by Thiru.V. Kalyanasundara Mudaliyar. After a long interval in 2006 it was republished by Saratha Publications.Thirukkural Depalangaram was published with a number of forewords from senior Tamil scholars of that period - Umamahesvanara, Na.Mu.Vengktasami Nattar, the Asalambigai , Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy , Ra. Ragavaiyangar being the foremost among them.This book is considered to be the first book on Thirukkural written by a woman.I am requesting our Chief minister to consider to nationaliz the first commentary for Tirukkural written by a Tamil woman from Trichy District Tamilnadu .
