The Scout Diamond jubilee jamboree at Manapparai -

Jamboree in India is a national event for Scouts and Guides that takes place every four years or on special occasions. The Bharat Scouts & Guides, a voluntary organization, hosts the event. 

Among this the  Golden Jubilee Jamboree (Golden Jubilee of Bharat Scouts and Guides) was conducted at chennai Tamilnadu from 27th January to 1st February 2000 by then Chief minister M.Karunanidhi. Now after 25 years the Diamond Jubilee jamboree is conducted successfully for the first time  in our Trichy District Manapparai and  name as Kalaignar Centenary Special Diamond Jubilee Jamboree has attracted over 25,000 participants including International students from 86 countries. It has 2500 tension accommodate attendees,including 1000 for boy Scouts,900 tents for girls Guides, 500 for scoutmadters and 50 for officials with unique 2000 bio toilets and bathing showers. This event  featured a variety of activities such as patrolling campcraft ,signalling, March pasts and first aid demonstration .This events has also pavethe way for exhibiting Tamil culture and tradtion to the other states and countries 

This event is conducted successfully for first time at Manapparai. Hats off to Government of Tamilnadu, Chief minister, Deputy Chief Minister, school education minister K.N.Nehru district administrative and others
