Request to include our Well-known world famous Trichy Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list - M.A.Aleem Neurologist Member Tiruchirapalli District Welfare Fund Committee

Trichy Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is one of the age old Temple with many unique features and architectural Heritage important. 

This green temple complex is considered to be the first and foremost of the 108 Divyadesams situated in the  Srirangam Island between the Cauvery and coleroon rivers. It has 7 prakares and 21 towers including the Asia's largest majestic 236 feet high Rajagopuram.

The massive renovation and restoration effort at the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, executed through the public-private partnership model, has won the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award of Merit 2017 for cultural heritage conservation. 

So far our Trichy Srirangam temple is not listed as UNESCO HERITAGE SITE. 


My request is to 
encourage the  protection and preservation of cultural  heritage of outstanding value to humanity, it is better to take initiative  to include our Well-known world famous Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list
